Don't Relocate Perry LEAP to Bush Middle!

Don't Relocate Perry LEAP to Bush Middle!
The Issue
LEAP is the backbone of Perry Middle School, and while it will stay there for the 2025-2026 school year, it is still in danger of being relocated.
CFBISD is facing a $19 million budget downfall, and they're shutting down schools and relocating their program for gifted students, LEAP, most likely to Barbara Bush Middle. This is BAD--parents of LEAP kids are complaining!
In the school board meeting of March 6, 2025, the school board decided to consolidate McCoy, Furneaux, and Central Elementary Schools, as well as Long Middle School. While this damage has been done, it's still important to try to keep Middle School LEAP at Perry.
The teachers at Perry have the whole learning system planned out, but teachers who have never taught LEAP before will have to try out new things; that will not be good for students.
One of the teachers specifically said, "The possibility that you might not have Ms. (not sure if she would like me to put the actual name) next year is devastating."
NBC report on this (worth reading!)
No parents and no teachers at Perry or McCoy want this.
PLEASE sign to convince the school board to keep LEAP in Perry!
-The kids and parents of the district
