Dear Derbyshire County Council,

lam proud to be a part of the Ada Belfield Centre team.I remember the day our doors opened and welcomed all our wonderful residents to their new home on 23rd September 2020. The looks on their faces is something that will never be forgotten that look of happiness and wonder exploring their new surroundings. These walls quickly became our home, and our Ada Belfield family began to make new memories together.

If the walls could talk, they would be able to tell you what a wonderful, warm, friendly place it is. Staff are loyal, hardworking, and proud to be here and part of the Belper and wider community.

As well as caring for our long-term residents we also welcome people into our home for rehabilitation when they just need that little bit more support/care before returning home after a hospital stay. As a team everyone plays a part in
rebuilding people's confidence after a fall or being unwell to help them to return home.

Our home that Derbyshire County Council built just that Short time ago as a 'flag ship home' is wonderful, we love to show it off to everyone as we are proud of it - entertainers, hairdresser, foot practitioner, doctors/nurses, children from local schools, local craft groups, Belper in Bloom the list is endless.

Our residents thrive from all of this but also thrive from being part of the wider community too, our wonderful cafe allows thern to meet friends and family members whilst sharing a cuppa. Our close relationship with the library allows us to take part in many activities and integrating various age groups together. We also thrive from being in the centre of the local community as this allows residents to go out with carers in their local area and visit places from their yesteryear.

Please do not take this away from us, please let our story continue, please remember our residents don't live in our workplace, we work in their home, and we love
it!

Yours sincerely,

A very PROUD and LUCKY member of the Ada Belfield team.
(Please can you share the above in the hope it might reach them. Also thank you, the people of Belper and the wider community for being our voice.)
