Goodrich, Weideman, Sutherland, Gow: Torrance City Council Election
MODIFIED HYDROFLUORIC ACID RISKGardena, CA, United States
May 29, 2018
TRAA is non-partisan and focused on one and only one goal: The elimination of MHF alkylation at the Torrance and Valero Refineries within four (4) years. TRAA does NOT endorse candidates; however, TRAA does inform the public as to who and what organizations support TRAA’s position on MHF alkylation, including officeholders.
In the Torrance City Council election (June 5) the following four (4) candidates have indicated support of TRAA’s position by filing letters to the South Coast AQMD to that effect:
Tim Goodrich (Incumbent)
Kurt Weideman (Incumbent)
Bill Sutherland
Jimmy Gow
In addition to filing letters, Incumbent Council Members Goodrich and Weideman sponsored a Council Resolution in 2017 that called for a ban on continued MHF alkylation.
For more information about how those candidates for Torrance City Council who responded to TRAA’s inquiry regarding MHF alkylation answered that inquiry, including the candidates above, please go to the TRAA web site at www.traasouthbay.com.
