Dear Fighters for a Safe Community, Oct. 31st, 2017: If you live near the Torrance or Valero refinery, you may receive an informational door hanger on the deadly dangers of MHF. Your door hanger is part of a 100,000 door hanger campaign targeting South Bay households. To increase the impact of this campaign, we will follow up by canvassing our neighbors to encourage support of South Bay Air Quality Management District Rule 1410, which would finally ban HF and MHF. The passage of this rule is incredibly important to this fight. And neighbor to neighbor contact is the most important way to grow this movement. If you live in the South Bay cities of Southern California: Torrance, Lawndale, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Gardena, or Carson and would like to volunteer two hours to canvass neighborhoods, please email us at info@traasouthbay.com. Will you help during this critical time? We plan a big push to reach as many people as possible during the weekend of November 4 and 5. If you can volunteer, we will connect you with an experienced partner and give you a neighborhood to canvass, along with materials and instructions to make the task easy and fun (we promise!)
