Mar 31, 2017 — TRAA: Dear Friends and Neighbors, PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND THE EVER IMPORTANT HEARING ON THE TORRANCE REFINERY THIS COMING SATURDAY. Saturday, April 1 • 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. SCAQMD (South Coast Air Quality Management District) Hearing On Torrance Refinery Torrance Marriott, 3635 Fashion Way, Torrance, CA 90503 (Complimentary self-parking in hotel structure) SCAQMD called this meeting in the community after yet another fire last month. They plan to adopt rules to address the acute risk of Modified Hydrofluoric Acid (MHF) and the chronic danger of excessive flaring. Strong Community Input and Support Are Needed for These Rules to Succeed! The hearing was scheduled on a weekend to maximize resident attendance; the hall is the biggest they could find. Attend all of the hearing, if possible.
