I can SAVE your JOB, but NOT your LIFE...

I can save your job, but not your life OR I can save your jobs AND your lives? Which is better? Which do YOU choose? That depends on who YOU send to your Torrance City Council and your California State Legislature this Tuesday. June 7th. You object to the risk of losing hundreds of thousands of lives due to an MHF/HF release. The lives of people you love. You want a safer alternative. You understand that corporations are NOT going to volunteer to remove MHF/HF because it will cost them an estimated $150 million or more to replace. The risk of losing your loved ones will ONLY be gone when MHF/HF is no longer an option in California. A bill to do this is sitting in our state legislature. But it's dead? Why? Our elected representatives are stuck. They don't want to lose the jobs at these refineries. So they let bill AB 1759 die. This includes David Hadley who was on the committee that could have modified and moved the bill forward. In essence these committees have said WE CAN SAVE YOUR JOBS, BUT WE CAN'T SAVE YOUR LIVES. And that's why we're so angry and frustrated. Which is easier? Getting rid of our MHF/HF risk with representatives who choose to operate as an either/or: It's EITHER our jobs OR our LIVES? Or getting rid of our MHF/HF refinery risk with those who pledge to legislate the transition to MHF/HF free CA refineries.
