Don't Give The Spider-Man Rights Back To Marvel

After the release of Madame Web, a growing number of people (morbphobes and webphobes) want Sony to return the rights to Spider-Man to Marvel. To that, I say: NO. Marvel does not deserve the rights to Spider-Man. Marvel does not grasp the essence of Spider-Man. Have you seen the recent MCU movies and shows? They are a lot worse than Madame Web. At least Madame Web is a good movie that offers a compelling standalone movie experience without setting up endless sequels. Take, for example, Thor: Love and Thunder, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, The Marvels, Eternals, Secret Invasion, and so on—they pale in comparison to Madame Web.

If you are still unconvinced why Sony shouldn’t give the rights back to Marvel, consider this: handing the rights back to Marvel would mean losing out on more movies like Venom, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Morbius, Madame Web, Kraven the Hunter, Venom 3, and El Merto. Without these films, the landscape of comic book movies would suffer gravely, potentially leading to the demise of the entire superhero genre. Please think critically before advocating for the return of Spider-Man to Marvel. As much as I may not be a fan of the Spider-Man character, I am grateful that the rights remain with Sony.
