Hi everyone,

I’ve been struggling to find the right words to express how heartbroken, disappointed, and angry I am, and I’m sure many of you feel the same way. On July 18, the House approved Trump’s request to revoke approximately $1.1 billion allocated for public broadcasting. House Republicans passed the bill by a vote of 216-213, continuing their attack on institutions and programs they label as "leftist propaganda," "fake news," and "biased" broadcasting.

The media continues to be silenced, just as it has been since Trump first took office. PBS and NPR provide essential journalism and coverage, and defunding these programs will be especially harmful to people in rural communities.

However, the fight is not over. I urge you to keep sharing this petition, donate if you can, protest these budget cuts, and speak out against the silencing of public media. We, the people, have the power to enact change, and it’s time for our voices to be heard.
