Doncaster Council have introduced proposals that would make busking, rough sleeping, being 'likely' to cause annoyance and a wide range of other behaviours a criminal offence punishable by a fine of up to £1000 and a criminal record. These sweeping new powers would give police officers and officials the power to ban people from the town centre because they were believed to be likely to cause annoyance, a nebulous, wide-ranging and subjective test that could affect almost everyone. Overwhelmingly these new powers target the most vulnerable and dispossessed members of our communities. Please sign and share the petition asking the council to rethink their proposals.
