Keep Streets Live Campaign

Aug 24, 2016
I hope this message finds you well,
I have launched a new crowdfunding campaign on behalf of the Keep Streets Live Campaign asking for your support to oppose the growing criminalisation of street culture in the UK. You can check it out here:

Since Keep Streets Live began in Liverpool four years ago you are one of the tens of thousands of people have signed petitions I started on behalf of the Keep Streets Live Campaign to keep public spaces across the UK open to a vibrant street culture and to oppose the criminalisation of homelessness. We have campaigned in Liverpool, York, Chester, Bath, Birmingham, Canterbury, Newcastle, Durham, Exeter, London and beyond. Your support in Birmingham helped us to persuade the council to drop its plans to criminalise busking and to work with the busking community instead.
Over the summer of 2016, I have been working with leading petition website Change.Org as a Community Leader to build a wider network of support for Keep Streets Live. Now I am asking for your support to continue that work and to fund 12hrs a week of paid activism for a year to enable us to campaign more effectively and to challenge the authoritarian use of Public Space Protection Orders across the UK and other measures which curtail community uses of public space.
Unless they are successfully challenged and the legislation that underpins them reformed, PSPOs will make our towns and cities into far less welcoming and much more alienating places whilst everyday freedoms we have always taken for granted will be lost forever.

Any support you are able to offer would be a great help!
With thanks,
