We, homeowners in Trinity Falls, McKinney, TX, purchased our homes with a vision. A vision of a community that promotes outdoor activities and healthy living for our families. The proposed construction of a McDonald's within our neighborhood is contradictory to this vision and the lifestyle we have invested in.

Fast food chains like McDonald's are known for their high-calorie meals which contribute to unhealthy dietary habits. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), frequent consumption of such meals can lead to obesity and other health-related issues like heart disease and diabetes.

Our neighborhood should be promoting healthy food options instead. This not only aligns with our community values but also contributes positively towards the overall health outcomes of its residents. In fact, research from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health suggests that access to healthier food outlets is associated with reduced risk for obesity.

We urge Huntington Properties, Inc., Johnson Development, and the Trinity Falls HOA to reconsider allowing this fast-food chain into our neighborhood of “homes in nature.” Let us uphold Trinity Falls as an emblematic example of a community dedicated towards fostering active lifestyles and promoting healthier food choices.
