I am creating this petition today as a concerned mall employee. There has officially been a case of a corona virus patient claiming that they came to Dolphin Mall on March 8th, 2020. There are thousands of tourists and locals that come to Dolphin Mall and there is no amount of sanitation procedures that the mall can do to be able to avoid the spread of this virus especially since it is such a busy mall that is packed with people. A shopping mall, especially one such as Dolphin Mall, has thousands of people coming in an out daily. To avoid the spread of this virus, Dolphin Mall needs to close down.

Colleges, big events, as well as huge businesses such as Disney World and Universal Orlando have shut down because of this virus. What makes Dolphin, or any mall really, any different? Forcing our stores to stay open not only put the employees at risk but the citizens of Miami as a whole. And we should NOT be fined or punished for putting our health first. Everyday we walk into our stores, we put ourselves at risk of catching this virus and potentially put our loved ones at risk as well. It is inhumane and quite frankly, disgusting. We should not be walking dollar signs. Instead we should be considered regular, everyday human beings. This is a global pandemic. Dolphin Mall and Taubman as a whole should take this more seriously. Please join me to take action to put the health of our employees first in light of this global pandemic and shut Dolphin Mall down until the corona virus outbreak has settled.
