Save Iron Station NC Small Business - Stop Dollar General and future small box retailers

The Issue

"Your Voice Counts"- so be heard!  We need all households living within 10 miles of the site and anyone who drives HWY 73/Amity Church Rd. to respond!  All others are welcome to support our cause relative to this growth on the backs of rural American towns!!

Keep it Safe, Country, and Local!  - Like us on Facebook! contact us at info@stopdg.com.

We, the Concerned Residents of Iron Station, are protesting Dollar General’s plan to build an estimated 9,100-square-foot building at Hwy 73 & Amity Church Road.

We believe the plan will increase traffic hazards and impact the character of our rural community while taking away business from existing small businesses and limit new small business opportunity.

• Keep it Local! Choose to support local business not obliterate them. Drive revenue in our local economy not in the pockets of out of state owners/shareholders!!

• Choose Safety! There is ALREADY considerable traffic and accidents at this intersection.

• Choose community over convenience!  There are ALREADY 10 Dollar General stores and 7 Family Dollar stores,  2 Walmarts, major grocery stores, etc within a 10 mile radius.

• Keep Iron Station's historical, rural appeal!

Please join us - learn more at www.stopdg.com. Go there to learn about the plans, who to contact with concerns, and what you can do to prevent this from happening to you! There are open lots available at this intersection and we need to work to bring businesses that we want to see in our area!

Next Community meeting ( Lincoln County Board of Commissioners ) This topic is tentatively scheduled April 3, 2017 or in future.  Developer Meeting is now scheduled - April 4, 2017 @ East Lincoln Community Center  - 8160 Optimist Club Rd, Denver, NC 28037 - http://lincolnherald.net/Main.asp?SectionID=3&SubSectionID=28&ArticleID=20988 .

There are 3 more coming nearby soon (HWY 150 Lee Lawing, HWY 27 Alexia, HWY 150 Old Crouse Rd as well as a request for a (non-DG related) warehousing facility off HWY 73 - what is our county thinking??) - !!
