DOGE: Act Now to Stop International Fraud Draining U.S. Government Programs
The Issue
According to a new NBC News investigation, improper payments and fraud are siphoning off hundreds of billions — possibly up to a trillion dollars a year — from U.S. government programs, with much of it going to international criminal networks.
Yet the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), created to prevent this exact kind of waste, has done little to stop it.
While DOGE posts flashy “Walls of Receipts” and makes political headlines, it is failing to implement real systems to detect and prevent global-scale fraud, even as U.S. taxpayer dollars are being stolen through pandemic aid, Medicare, and unemployment fraud — often by overseas groups using fake identities.
This is not just a bureaucratic failure — it’s a national security and fiscal emergency.
We call on the Department of Government Efficiency to immediately propose and implement serious safeguards against improper payments and identity fraud, prioritize blocking international criminal networks from exploiting U.S. programs.
Release a public plan outlining how DOGE will stop the bleeding — not just claim savings
Taxpayer money should go to schools, healthcare, and infrastructure — not fake identities and overseas crime rings.
