Feb 16, 2016
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting our petition to raise awareness & create visibility of Chronic Pain as its own disease. Through your efforts, we have reached almost 500 signatures, and the nos. are growing.
Kindly continue to share our petition with family, friends and through social media such as FB and TWITTER. We need your support for a successful campaign.
Chronic Pain currently affects 1 in 4 Canadians (and Americans) on a daily basis. The majority of Chronic Pain cases will not resolve in someone's lifetime. It is a lifelong sentence to live in often excruciating pain daily, that is largely invisible and does not garner media attention, financial support for research or societal compassion for its punishment of body, mind and spirit.
As Boomers speed towards retirement~ our countries need for access to quality Pain Care stands to be compromised greatly. Chronic Pain costs Canadians some 60 Billion annually in lost wages, treatment and productivity. Pundits predict that by 2020 Canadians will face a population of 1 in 3 Chronic Pain patients.
We need to voice our concerns NOW or face a potential Pandemic of Denial in healthcare - where growing needs far outweigh available resources. Please help us achieve visibility of this challenging disease by joining us to #GivePainAVoice.
Signing this petition alerts the Minister of Long term care and Health in Ontario- that we as Ontarians are gravely concerned for our future health care, especially in the sector of Chronic Pain. It is URGENT that sensible and timely strategies be implemented immediately. Chronic Pain is sure to affect yourself, someone you love, or someone you know.
