Prevent Tragedy. Protect Our Community. Act Now.

Last winter, someone in our community died because there was no shelter, no warming centre, and nowhere safe to go. This heartbreaking loss was preventable—and silence is not an acceptable response.

We, the undersigned, demand urgent action to ensure the safety and dignity of every individual.

We call on Perth County and the City of Stratford to:

• Establish a permanent overnight shelter so that no one is left outside in unsafe conditions.
• Create warming and cooling centres to protect residents from extreme weather.
• Include people with lived experience at the decision-making table to ensure solutions are effective and compassionate.

Our community deserves more than housing models that look good on paper. We deserve systems that are preventative, humane, and effective—housing and care that actually protect lives.

We request action now. Every life matters. Our Community deserves better.
