The Commonwealth is stifling innovation by issuing a cease & desist against Uber. The claim that it doesn’t have guidelines in place for GPS location technology as the reason to order Uber to cease operations rather than working with them cultivate an environment that serves customers and young companies only benefits the incumbents while consumers and our local economy suffer. Consumers want Uber - the C&D doesn't cite consumer complaints that they were overcharged or concerned about the GPS technology as the reason to cease operations. Further, if Boston is to continue to be a hot bed of start ups and innovation, we need to provide an environment where new ideas and business models can take root.
