Let's keep fighting!

Our pleas fell upon deaf ears but we will not give up . We are quite certain that DSBN thinks we will if they put enough impediments in our way. Everyone can help. Please, go to the DSBN site, find the names of the Trustees and Wesley Hahn . You will see their email addresses. Then send an email to all of them and let them know how you stand on the name change of E.W. Farr to Wellington Heights. Tell them why we should keep it as is. DSBN says that a school name should inspire the students. Can't they see that E.W.Farr is a far better role model than the Duke of Wellington, who had absolutely nothing to do with Canada, Ontario, the Town of Pelham or Fenwick and Pelham Centre. They have ignored this petition, 300 signatures on a paper petition, a letter from the Mayor and Council, a letter from our Historical Society and numerous phone calls stating that we don't want a name change. Such a dictatorial attitude in these times of "supposed" transparency is totally unacceptable. It's about time DSBN did the right thing and listen to the community. After all, we do pay their wages.
