The trial continues and the prosecutions case continues to unravel. The headline above references a former neighbor of my aunt who testified that the man whose DNA was identified as being the rapist was in fact in the area at the time of the murder and was a friend of 2 of the witnesses who claimed Anthony committed the crime. Also, The jury also heard from famed forensic pathologist Michael Baden, the former New York City medical examiner and chief forensic pathologist for Congress' Select Committee on Assassinations, which in 1977 reinvestigated the slayings of President Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King. Baden undercut two aspects of the prosecution's current theory of the case: Byrd raped Talley but Wright also sexually assaulted her and stabbed her to death. Baden said "there is no evidence for a second person that I could find." Baden also said he believed Talley's broken cheek bone was caused by a "stomping" by an assailant wearing a smooth, hard-soled shoe. Baden said the injury could not have been caused by a soft-soled sneaker because that would have left an imprint of the sole design on Talley's face. The police have contended that Anthony was wearing a pair of Fila sneakers during the murder. The defense team has presented a clear picture that Anthony is innocent and I expect a not guilty verdict soon. The case should wrap up on Monday. Anthony should be a free man by next week.
