We, the homeowners of Ash Park, New Beginnings, and Lower South Pointe subdivisions in Richmond, KY, have been tolerating excessive regulations from our Homeowner's Association (HOA). Within just 4 short years, the administration of our HOA has changed hands multiple times, leading to a lack of consistency and an increase in arbitrary and unnecessary regulations. This HOA administration is far removed from the needs of our communities. With no board of resident homeowners holding them accountable, how are they utilizing tens of thousands of dollars per year to serve us? Also, as resident homeowners, our ability to make improvements to our own homes — according to our personal preferences and budgets — has been severely restricted. 

Our personal freedoms to install fences, decks, storage sheds, and recreational equipment, like pools and hot tubs, have been impeded. Currently, the enforced black chain-link fences are not sufficient to prevent large breed dogs and coyotes from jumping over them. The fear for our safety, and the safety of our pets, is a daily reality that we grapple with.

We strongly believe that homeowners should be able to make modifications adapt them to their lifestyle, without excessive interventions. Our neighborhoods deserve to experience the freedom of living in their own homes without ongoing interference.

We call on local authorities and relevant parties to support us in dissolving the existing HOA contract. Together, we can ensure a better living environment for all residents of Ash Park, The Beginnings, and Lower South Pointe subdivisions.
