Dismiss Officer Eric Dopf from Woodstock Police Department for Misconduct
The Issue
My brother, Che Bosch, was a victim of police brutality at the hands of Woodstock Police Officer Eric Dopf. Che was defenceless, on his knees with his hands cuffed behind his back and not resisting in any way when he was assaulted by Officer Dopf while on duty. With video evidence. Tragically, Che passed away 24 days later. This incident is not isolated; there is another instance where Officer Dopf assaulted a man while on duty and settled the case out of court.
Officer Eric Dopf's actions are unacceptable of a police officer and do not represent the highest standard of policing that citizens of Woodstock, Ontario deserve or any city for that matter. His continued service with the Woodstock Police Department undermines public trust in our law enforcement.
In Canada, every individual has the right to life, liberty and security (Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms). When those who are meant to protect us become perpetrators themselves, it destroys our faith in these.

We are asking the Woodstock Police Services Board to dismiss Officer Eric Dopf from his position at Woodstock Police Department due to his history of misconduct. We believe this action will help restore some measure of justice for victims like Che Bosch and reinforce public confidence in our police force.
Please sign this petition if you believe that no one should be above the law - especially those entrusted with upholding it.
