Our dear friend, who chooses to remain anonymous, had to endure a painful ten-minute wait with her hand raised, ignored entirely by our Math teacher, Ms. Trotman. This unfortunate incident is merely a glimpse into the recurring issue we face in our learning environment- being overlooked, not being given enough guidance, then being thrown into tests without proper preparation. Ms. Trotman, having explained mathematical concepts only once before, did not consider whether any of us comprehended the subject matter or needed further assistance. Education depends on the simple rule of repetition and reinforcement, a principle deeply grounded in countless educational theories, yet systematically violated in Ms. Trotman's classroom. According to the State Board of Education, every student has the right to an encouraging educational environment, a right which here, seems jeopardized. It's time we addressed this profound issue and started taking steps for an effective solution. We call on the school administration to inquire into Ms. Trotman's teaching methods, granting us and future generations a fair chance at learning.
