No sign Premiers are hearing us on tackling inter-provincial trade barriers!

A Council of the Federation on Dec 16 dominated by discussion of addressing the threat of Trump's tariffs. Not a single mention of tackling inter-provincial trade barriers as a means to counteract the potential damage of US tariffs!

An Opinion piece in the Globe on the 18th pointed to "every provincial regulation [of inter-provincial trade] has a beneficiary lurking behind it, be it provincial coffers when it comes to liquor laws or industry and trade associations that jealously protect their unearned competitive advantage"

The Premiers have the perfect opportunity to make Canada less dependent on the US and mitigate the impact of Trump's tariffs. However, they will not act if we don't force their hand!
