Discontinue Damerlin Baez (aka Biggie) from "Baddies" for Inappropriate Language Use

The Issue

I am creating this petition driven by a deeply personal concern. Damerlin Baez, otherwise known as Biggie, is a cast member on the show called "Baddies" and continues to misuse the derogatory term "nigga" despite acknowledging publicly that she is not Black, but Dominican. Her actions demonstrate a clear disregard for racial sensitivities and is a direct violation of the many volumes of work done worldwide on race relations and respect amongst diverse ethnic groups.

There is an understanding in most societies that using racial slurs when one does not belong to that particular ethnic group is offensive and disrespectful. Damerlin's repeated use of this term only serves to exacerbate racial tensions and cheapens the experiences of millions of black individuals who have been on the receiving end of racial slurs in the past. Simply put, there is no difference between what she's doing and other non-Black individuals using that term inappropriately.

The United Nations underscores the principle of cultural respect and recognition of people's racial identities as a basic human right. What Damerlin is doing is a clear violation of this principle.

We understand that people are individuals, filled with diverse backgrounds and experiences, but there must be a line drawn against using racial slurs in the public sphere, particularly by those who seek to capitalize on their misuse. Implementing codes of conduct that respect racial dynamics on media platforms should be standard practice. Let's unite and call for the removal of Damerlin Baez from the show "Baddies" and any other such platform until she comprehends the gravity of her actions. Please sign this petition to help encourage respectful and responsible behavior in our media. Your support is a stand against racial insensitivity and a step toward a more equal society.
