When I first heard of the Turning Point community, I was appalled. Encouraging adolescents to create division in their communities destroys the hope of unity. In society today, a common trend this divide causes is violence, hate, and an overall feeling of unwelcoming for both sides. The scholars of Basehor Linwood high school, are no different than students everywhere. People with likeminded views like to talk to each other, which aids the invention of clubs and sports. The Turning Point, Or BLHS Club America, was made to create a political and social divide. Alongside politics not being allowed to be discussed in a place of academics, political clubs should not be able to be sponsored. Signing this petition, means more than just clicking a button. It means to ensure Basehor-Linwood high school is safe and inclusive for everyone. No matter  what your hobbies, views, or ideas are, everyone should have a space that doesn’t harm others.
