Disband Rise Multi Academy Trust

Disband Rise Multi Academy Trust
The Issue
This petition is calling for the disbandment of Rise Multi Academy Trust and the seceding of control of its constituent schools to other trusts.
Rise has demonstrated systemic failures in governance, accountability, and leadership across the Trust. The values that should underpin an educational organisation — integrity, transparency, equity, and a genuine commitment to pupil welfare — have been eroded.
The leadership team seems to operate with impunity, prioritising its own image and internal stability over the educational outcomes and wellbeing of the pupils it is supposed to serve.
Parents have lost faith in the trust’s ability to act in the best interests of their children. When central team expenditure has reportedly increased nearly threefold while school-level funding has declined, the justification becomes indefensible. There is no acceptable rationale for draining school budgets to sustain a bloated and unaccountable central team.
The Trust's motto claims to help pupils "Flourish and Succeed", yet under current leadership, pupils are being allowed to "Diminish and Fail".
Because of the depth and breadth of issues with Rise Multi Academy Trust, its strategy, its leadership and its governance, we believe the only sensible and viable option to implement its immediate and permanent disbandment. Action should be taken to immediately suspend the
trust’s central operations, freeze the trust’s assets and disperse the existing schools into trusts with more capable and competent leadership. This process needs to be overseen by the Department for Education.
The trust is so badly rotten to its core that there is no feasible course of action that can save it. The needs of children need to be put first, and their schools need to be managed by organisations with the capability to do so as a matter of grave urgency.
