Earlier today, the Government of Ontario submitted a promise in writing to repeal Bill 28, the legislation that preemptively applied the Notwithstanding clause to impose a contract on the education workers of CUPE Ontario.

This victory against Premier Doug Ford's anti-labour agenda happened because you and so many others understood that the constitutional rights of ALL Canadians were at stake, and raised your voices.  Thank you for all you have done.  

Let me sign off with a final request to keep the pressure on your MPs to negotiate in good faith to achieve a fair and equitable settlement with CUPE.  

And if another provincial politician tries to eliminate our Charter rights to collective bargaining, we are ready, educated and willing to fight back.
