Students at UC Merced have been getting the most disgusting food. Many students have been experiencing food poisoning as well as student's have even found worms, flies, maggots, and hairs. Students have even spotted fungus, mold, and even rotten food. when it comes to the drinks there is usually no ice provided, most of the drinks are always out of stock, there's usually no almond milk for those who are vegan. The supposed "fresh" salads are not even fresh as most of the time the vegetables and lettuce are soggy and turning brown. Unfortunately, the meal plan is mandatory and is not cheap. $2.3K per semester has to be paid by students and they aren't even able to get decent food. Most students in our community come from low-income households and of course they have to rely on the meal plan. If nothing is done, we will have to take action and go on protest. If no further changes are made we will take drastic measures and go on strike . If this petition reaches its goal the director of campus will be contacted.
