Kumari Simran, aged 22 years, and resident of KBK lane number 3 under civil line police station, Adarshnagar in Badaun district has unrelentingly been fighting for rescue and the safety of her sister Ragini (name changed) from human trafficking. Only if the state police had come to her rescue earlier than Ragini would have been living safely at her home. The slogan of ‘Beti Bachao’ (save girls) appears hollow in this case.

On July 26, 2018, Ragini was kidnapped around 12 noon, and although immediately reported, the police did not lodge an FIR in the case. On the order of SSP, an FIR (crime number 532/18, section 363,366 IPC) was finally lodged on August 5, 2018.

Simran even complained to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). However, the Commission merely registered as case (case number 9850/24/7/2019-WC) and is awaiting the report from the UP Police. It did not even try to intervene by sending its own team. The victim’s father, Rambhajan, also lodged a complaint with the Prime Minister’s portal.On November 12, 2018, Rambhajan wrote (reference PMOPG/E/2018/0543943) to the minister in charge of Badaun district, “The applicant’s daughter’s life is in danger and the whole family is aggrieved. Seema Rastogi roams around impersonating as a boy. She slyly befriends and cajoles girls, and later sells them off. The police is not taking any action, instead subjects us to bizarre queries.”

Simran says, “I gave up hope after my constant efforts in the pursuit of justice, yet the officials concerned were unmoved with my plight.”

Kindly, sign the petition and apprise the government that for the dispense of justice to Simran, a CBI probe should be recommended in the case, so that Ragini is rescued and united with her family, while the culprits are punished.
