"Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater" (Houkago Teibou Nisshi) is a charming, relaxing, and wholesome slice-of-life anime about high school girls who join the Breakwater Club and discover the joys of recreational fishing. Introverted Hina Tsurugi moves to a seaside town and, together with energetic Yuuki, knowledgeable Natsumi, and the rest of the club, learns about different fishing techniques, marine life, and the beauty of simple outdoor moments.

The 12-episode series animated by Doga Kobo (2020) won our hearts with its cute character designs, soothing atmosphere, educational fishing tips, hilarious moments, and heartwarming friendships. However, the manga by Yasuyuki Kosaka is still ongoing (with 11+ volumes) and has so much more content left — new fishing spots, adventures, club activities, and character growth that fans are eager to see animated!
