Keep America Safe for Women and their Right to Medical Freedom

The Issue

I’m very concerned with the retirement of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy.   The progress made to ensure women have the right to decide their medical and family needs is one to be proud.  Making America Great does not mean taking Safety and freedoms away based on religious beliefs.  I thought the constitution advocated keeping religion out of government.  Little by little, religious decisions have crept in to our policy to impose their values on people in this great country.  I was raised Christian and believe my faith should not be a requirement to decide whether a person has the freedom to make a decision regarding their body and its reproductive anatomy.

I was a young girl when abortion was illegal and had heard stories of backroom abortions, coat hangers, knitting needles, and women dying from their inability to receive professional medical care.  I don’t want to see these days returning to our society.

I ask each of you to vote against any nominee for Supreme Court Justice who will impose restrictions on women based on their religious beliefs and not the constitution.   Women in this country are depending on each of you to ensure we have access to safe medical care and continue to be able to make our own medical decisions.  This is a life or death situation for women and will affect many generations to come.

Thank you for voting to keep America safe for women.
