Chase Cutarelli started this petition to Superintendent Diane Allen

On 19 August 2020, the Marysville High School (Ohio) football team posted a photo of their players touting several flags, one of which is the flag for blue lives matter (blue line), an icon that is borne out of opposition to the Black Lives Matter movement against the disproportionate murder of people of color in the United States. Every player appears white, save for one black student without a flag. In addition, there is another flag pictured that denotes border patrol (green line), rippling in the air as a testament to the sanctity of these institutions. The way in which these flags are touted represents a clearly political, hateful and overall irresponsible message that makes a 'patriotic' circus of what is (or rather should be) a nonpartisan activity, given the ubiquity of police brutality across the country and the horrors of families being ripped apart by deportation. This petition opposes such school-sponsored political speech and demands the school district, specifically the superintendent, to address its inherent racism.
