Hello Supporters,

Thank you to every one who has lended their support either by signature, showing up at last weeks DAFC meeting, or even reaching out to City officials.

DAFC Application Update
We wanted to share an update on this application. We submitted this petition with the 154 signatures to the Development Authority one-day ahead of the February 23rd board meeting, and the developer, Capital City Real Estate, got word of the opposition and decided to have their application pulled from the agenda. Chairman Michel M. Turpeau briefly explained that the applicant had decided to do more "fact finding."

This day in age with online meetings, it is unclear how many in opposition attended the meeting, but there is no doubt that having a large showing will work in our favor.  As of now, it is unclear whether or not the developer will return for next months DAFC Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 23. We will continue to keep everyone informed if we get any information on what 272 Ponce, LLC decides to do next regarding their tax abatement application.

Atlanta City Council Legislation
This past September, the Atlanta City Council approved legislation, introduced by Post 2 At-Large Council member Matt Westmoreland, calling on the Development Authority of Fulton County to cease acting as the issuer of lease purchase taxable revenue bonds for property within Atlanta’s city limits. The Atlanta City Council reviews and has final say on many land-use and zoning matters. Major economic development projects for the City also fall under the council’s consideration. Please reach out to your Council Member and voice your concerns.

Share the Petition
Please continue to share the petition with your friends and neighbors, and on social media like Facebook and Nextdoor. Our goal will be to submit one final version of the petition with it's current status as we know it to the Board the week before the next DAFC meeting.
