Rule versus the implementation of it on the ground!

As per what i have heard, immigration officers in India are not aware of this rule, but there is no telling as to when they will be made aware of it! Regardless, this rule is totally ridiculous, counterproductive, and fraudulent and the amount of paperwork required EVERY TIME and the intricacy of the application process are equally ridiculous (it is like having to take the written test and road test every time when we apply to renew our driver's license!!). So, we need to continue to fight against this nonsense rule (for both aspects of it: 1. The age discrimination that has nothing logical or scientific to support it and, 2. Unnecessarily painful process of getting OCI renewed/reissued.) The best solution would be to continue to allow OCI card holders to travel to India with old passport (that has the OCI visa on it), new passport and the original OCI card - the way it has been working for last 10 years or so.
