Heather Gulbranson started this petition to Carl Voss Des Moines City Council

This petition is in regards to the Des Moines Impound Towing and Storage contract with Crow Automotive Services, Inc. d/b/a Crow Tow, 826 S.E. 21st Street, Des Moines, IA 50317. (20-004) The contract terms are for 36 months, concluding December 31, 2022, with an optional 36- month extension upon agreement by both parties which would conclude December 31, 2025, if exercised.

We accuse Crow Tow of being a predatory towing company who is not BBB accredited and who has committed crimes against people while providing work for the City of Des Moines, under this contract.

We ask that any contract awarded by the Des Moines City Council only be awarded to reputable companies, who are BBB accredited or whom at the very least, haven't been accused of criminal activity while performing their duty under city contract.

Background Info for those who have been fortunate enough to have never dealt with Crow Tow-  Crow Tow is a towing company located in Des Moines who has been awarded the city contract for towing which involves police impounds, towing after automobile accidents, and surveillance and towing of unauthorized parking on public property. They also have contracts with private companies all over Polk County.

People have had multiple problems with this company ranging from damage to their vehicles, theft of their personal belongings, towing of vehicles with poorly marked notice (many people had no idea they were parking in a spot that was at risk of being towed), outrageous towing and storage fees, and horrible customer service.

Please sign this petition and Share It - we are simply asking the City of Des Moines to award contracts to companies that are reputable.
