Work on the path (Wednesday and Thursday this week)

I am delighted to see that work is being done on the path (it started yesterday, Wednesday 16 February). I have no official confirmation from High Peak or DCC but work appears to be underway to improve the surface of the path, and there is a "path closed" sign in place at the West Drive end. It seems lighting will be much more of a challenge as there is opposition to this element of the improvements (and indeed lighting has not been given the go-ahead by anyone in the council). I will need to research solar lighting, and the consequent funding and planning permission that would be required. Lighting may not be possible, if we can't find the money and indeed if residents oppose the idea. However, I would welcome the opportunity to speak to anyone who feels they do NOT support lighting, so I can get a better understanding of their position. All I am trying to do is make it safer for users, when it is dark.
