AGENDA:

-Kat Cervino, Coastal Preservation Network president, will outline the issue at hand and our efforts to date.
-Dr. James Cervino, environmental chair of Queens Community Board 7, will discuss the need for access to CP's coast for public education
-Jim Haas, author of four books on College Point’s history, will lead a photo journey of Tallman Island's public access since the 1800s
-Riverkeeper staff will discuss other environmental justice fights in NYC & how public access has been won
-Jonah Furman, political organizer from U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s office, will discuss community organizing strategies to achieve our goal of regaining public access.
-City Councilman Paul Vallone, State Rep. Daniel Rosenthal and State Sen. John Liu (invited) will provide brief remarks.

All four elected officials for our region have signed on to a letter being sent to the Queens DEP Commissioner urging public access be restored at the site.
