Taronui beckons.

Thousands of people now support our efforts to enhance and maintain public access to the Taronui coastal-marine area in perpetuity.

We are seeking a collaborative approach involving iwi, the Department of Conservation, adjacent landowners and the wider community.

We asked DOC for information about the legal status of the Crown owned conservation strip leading to Taronui way back in February. We have finally resorted to an Official Information Act request through Minister of Conservation Eugenie Sage. Clearly we need to know exactly who has what rights before we proceed. We expect to receive this crucial information by the end of the month.

Then hopefully we will be able to move forward confidently.
