Outcome Still Pending

Apologies for the delayed updated. I learned a bit about how the parole process in Tennessee works this past week. I imagined that the entire board convened for a hearing and made a decisions - but that's not the case. There is a single presiding member over the hearing. That person reviews the evidence and submissions from the inmate, community and other relevant parties and makes a recommendation to the board. The board then has 30 days to review the recommendation and corresponding information and cast a vote to approve or deny the request.

Mr Brown submitted a request for a continuance pending the outcome of his Williamson County charges. If approved, this means he will stay in custody at least until the Williamson cases have been completely prosecuted. After that point he could then be potentially considered for parole. If the continuance is denied I'm not sure exactly what that process looks like. I'm told that it's unlikely it would be denied, however.

I verified that the signatures on this petition will still be weighed at his next parole hearing (and every hearing after that). So every single signature here will have an impact (and will continue to have an impact moving forward).

My intention is to notify all of you when he is up for parole again so that we can share this out to the community at that time and submit an updated petition to the board.

I will also be posting an update later this week with a global timeline of Mr brown violence (from prior to the last two years) and a more specific request for help in identifying other victims. More details to come.
