First, I wanted to take a moment to thank Sharon Danqua from WSMV for helping raise awareness of our cause. This is another step towards giving a voice to victims of violence and creating accountability for violent offenders. You can check out the article on the WSMV website!

Second, I wanted to take a moment to share something that happened yesterday that really demonstrates how important it is to raise this awareness. A woman (who requested not to be named) reached out to me because she saw this petition. She had a run in with Cliff in 2020; they connected on a dating app and eventually met in person. During this encounter he started to creep her out and her gut told her to ask a friend to pick her up and get the heck out of there. When she tried to leave, Mr Brown attempted to hit her. When she dodged the attempted assault he physically threw her out the front door and began screaming and throwing all of her things out after her!

This woman is so very lucky that she trusted her instincts because this story could have ended very differently for her. She reported his profile on the dating app and it was removed (but we all know that you can simply sign up again with a different email address). How many more women did he lure to meet him through dating apps? How many have a story that ended more tragically than hers?

As long as this man walks free the women in our community are not safe.

I learned something ironic today from a person that went to high school with Mr Brown. In his yearbook he listed his personal ambition: “Make the world know my name”. There are many many awful things that he made me do - that he made others do... and we will never forget his name.

Let's help Mr Brown materialize his full ambition: may the world never forget his name, either.

Please, take a moment to share this petition and keep our community safe.
