Subject: Denunciation of CARICOM Complicity in the Haitian Crisis

Dear CARICOM Secretary-General,

We, the undersigned SSN write to express our profound disappointment and vehement denunciation of what we perceive as CARICOM's complicity in the ongoing humanitarian and political crisis in Haiti.

We believe that CARICOM's actions, or rather, inaction, have demonstrably exacerbated the suffering of the Haitian people. The lack of decisive intervention, the failure to implement effective sanctions against armed groups, and the inadequate humanitarian aid provided have all contributed to the deepening of the crisis."

The current situation in Haiti demands immediate and decisive action.

We urge CARICOM to:

  • Dismantle the CPT
  • Impose targeted sanctions against individuals and entities responsible for the violence and instability.
  • Deploy a robust peacekeeping force to restore order and protect civilians.
  • Increase humanitarian aid and ensure its effective distribution to those in need.
  • Facilitate an inclusive, Haitian-led political dialogue aimed at establishing a legitimate and functioning government.

We believe that CARICOM has a moral and political obligation to act decisively to alleviate the suffering of the Haitian people. We urge you to take immediate steps to address this urgent crisis and demonstrate true regional leadership.

We expect a timely and substantive response outlining the specific actions CARICOM intends to take.

Sincerely,

SSN Media
