Thanks for all your support on demanding a future for Manchester’s Gay Village we can all be proud of.
Following public pressure, the Manchester council consultation on the plans has been extended to Thursday 22nd March 2018. You can find the document and consultation here:
http://www.manchester.gov.uk/info/500113/city_centre_regeneration/7613/portland_street_srf_consultation_january_2018
You don’t have to be an expert in anything to respond. But registering a response is important if you have a view on how the Gay Village is to develop.
We’re glad we’ve been able to make the council discuss some of the worries. However, your main concerns have been ignored - the plans remain the same. You deserve to be heard, not have your views waved away.
We’ve prepared some thoughts about how to feedback on the plans here:

But if you don’t have much time for reading, the main points for any response are-
Do the plans make a neighbourhood that is attractive and we can be proud of for the LGBT community?
What should be done to secure the future of Pride in the area?
Are the buildings in the plans (eg casino, car-park) appropriate?
What would keep the character of the Gay Village that is not in the SRF?
Is the document clear and of high enough quality?
Council consultation responses should be emailed to city.centre@manchester.gov.uk .
