This petition is deeply personal to me and many others who believe in justice. We are demanding the removal of Commonwealth Attorney Amy Ashworth, due to her blatant disregard for truth and justice. Despite being aware of a falsified police report against Mustafa Aljazairi, Ms. Ashworth has failed to take any action, allowing false charges to persist. Under Virginia state law § 24.2-233 (Effective January 1, 2024), a circuit court may remove from office any elected officer or officer who has been appointed to fill an elective office for incompetence in the performance of their duties or misuse of office. We believe that Ms. Ashworth's failure to act on this matter constitutes neglect of duty and misuse of her position. This is not just about one case; it's about upholding the integrity and trust we place in our legal system. When those entrusted with enforcing our laws fail us, they must be held accountable. We urge you all - citizens who value truth and justice - to join us in calling for Amy Ashworth's removal from her position as Commonwealth Attorney due to her negligence in handling this case properly.
