Dear Members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education,

Our community is formally calling for the immediate resignation of school board members Stephanie Sneed, Charlitta Hatch, Gregory “Dee” Rankin, Liz Monterrey Duvall, and Shamaiye Haynes.

Their decision to surreptitiously vote to terminate Superintendent Dr. Crystal Hill for convenience—without cause, public notice, input, or transparency—is unacceptable and against the best interests of CMS students, staff, and schools. The ongoing conflicts of interest, lack of transparency, and misuse of taxpayer funds that should directly support our classrooms have undermined the community's trust.

The public deserves leaders who prioritize students, staff, and schools above all else. We have lost confidence in the current Board's ability to serve in the best interest of the public they are meant to serve, and we request that these five members resign effective immediately.
