DEMANDING ACCOUNTABILITY, TRANSPARENCY, AND ETHICAL LEADERSHIP FROM MANITOBA SCHOOL BOARD
The Issue
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
We, the undersigned educators, parents, community members, and concerned citizens, stand united against administrative exploitation, unethical payroll practices, and severe financial distress inflicted upon teachers within Frontier School Division.
Educators make extraordinary personal and professional sacrifices to serve students in northern and remote communities—often relocating thousands of kilometers away from their homes and families. In return, teachers deserve basic workplace integrity, administrative transparency, and ethical leadership.
We strongly condemn the following practices:
Wage Seizure & Predatory Clawbacks: Withholding an educator’s earned summer salary and attempting to retroactively claw back tens of thousands of dollars due to administrative processing delays—when classroom performance and professional qualifications remained identical—is abusive and predatory.
Unlawful Delays of Legal Documents: Withholding a departing teacher's Record of Employment (ROE) for three months violates standard employment regulations, blocks access to earned benefits, and inflicts severe financial distress during relocation.
Undermining Educational & Report Card Credibility: Weaponizing administrative certification backlogs to label an educator "unqualified" after a full year of classroom teaching disrespects teachers, misleads families, and directly undermines the validity of student report cards and assessments given to parents.
