THANK YOU, Community!
On September 8th, supporters of well-rounded education showed up in-person for the 2nd school board meeting in a row, sending the message to board members and administrators that we remain committed to seeing the demands of our petition through.
I kicked off the public comment period, then three additional community members gave heartfelt comments in support of teachers and students. As a former teacher, the passion with which these folks shared their support and concern was deeply moving! I cannot thank these wonderful community members enough for their courage and dedication to advocating for better outcomes for our children.
If you were unable to attend the meeting, and would like to hear the brief but impactful public comments for yourself, you can access the recording on Springfield School Board's Vimeo Channel. Click this link: SPS Sept. 8th Board Meeting
Public comments begin at approximately 22 minutes into the meeting. (Strangely, video cuts out and goes to a blue screen just before public comments and returns just after public comments, but the audio remains intact.)
Please consider sharing or re-sharing this petition on social media to show continued momentum for our mission!
Show your in-person support by attending the next Board meeting on Monday, September 22nd at 5:30. This meeting will not be open to public comment, but having community members in attendance demonstrates to leadership that their accountability for our kids' well-rounded education is our priority!
Thank you again, awesome community!
