Petition updateDemand Winchester City Council END their contract with ICE3/9 Update - 30 Days of Action

We want to set the record straight.

Last week The Winchester Star published an article confirming our concerns about the NRJDC contract. The article states that the contract's renewal was voted back in December, and that the March 31st extension is to finalize the contract's details.

The article leaves an important detail, and that is that the current contract states that either party can terminate the agreement given 90 days notice.

This contract exposes a lack of transparency, hiding from our community the impact detention has on immigrant youth. It also highlights how little opportunity there is for community input, and when the community does speak up, we are met with PR and shoulder shrugging.

This contract is not about rehabilitation, it's about profiting off of the terror ICE is perpetrating throughout the nation. If you oppose the contract's renewal, please join us this week's 30 days of action.

As always if you haven't already, we encourage everyone to call the NRJDC and let them know your thoughts about the renewal of the ICE Contract.

If you are in the Winchester area, we are calling for a rally on Tuesday 3/10 from 5:15 to 5:45pm prior to Winchester's City Council meeting.

There are also Board of Supervisors meetings for Shenandoah and Frederick County on 3/10 @4pm and 3/11 @7pm respectively. We urge everyone to join us this week at our days of action.

Finally, if you want to stay in touch and learn more about immigration and how to help our community, you can now follow us on Instagram and Facebook!

Stay tuned for more!
