As a student currently enrolled at Western Kentucky University (WKU), I raise my voice to spotlight concerning issues within our campus that are being overlooked. We the students, provide substantial tuition fees each year expecting certain standards of safety, comfort, and apart from our education, a healthy lifestyle too.

However, it seems that WKU has been falling short of properly allocating the funds it receives. Inadequate living conditions in dorms have made it difficult for students to survive in extreme weather conditions. An absence of heating during winter and air conditioning during summer disrupts our living comfort, and is a clear defiance of the standard living conditions we are owed.

Existing buildings on the campus need urgent maintenance and cleaning. Students deserve to study in a clean and well-maintained environment, an area free of both debris and pests. Moreover, the quality of food served in our cafeterias should be up to par, surely not infested with roaches.

The inaccuracies in the bus maps have been leading students astray, causing us to miss our classes and be late for important appointments. This, in turn, is negatively affecting our studies and daily schedules.

The concerns mentioned do not just impact student morale but also question the credibility and reputation of WKU. Alarming as they are, these are not problems that cannot be solved with proper attention and allocation of funds.

Help us in asking WKU administration to start using tuition money to address these core student welfare issues. It is our right to receive a deserving educational and living environment.
