Thursday my husband and I had the pleasure Of joining UPS’s Local 804 Brooklyn Teamster’s rally  organized by Vincent Perrone. Local  804’s President is a strong Leader, and Advocate, for workers’ safety and rights. Other Teamster Locals are also picking up steam by holding rallies demanding UPS provide safety measures for their drivers. One such measure is to install Air-Condition to the Cargo Area of the Package Trucks. Perrone is also demanding UPS remove the driver-facing Cameras. Another harassment tool used by UPS is to intimidate the drivers. This camera not only records the drivers throughout their shifts, but it also obscures their view. Teamster’s are additionally demanding UPS to provide proper ventilation, and cooling systems to the warehouses.
