Hi All – Today is National Heat Awareness Day, and OSHA and the National Weather Service will "team up to encourage employers and workers to recognize the warning signs for heat illness and keep workers safe." What will UPS be doing today? My guess...nothing.

Heat is the leading cause of weather-related deaths in the United States, killing more than 600 people every year. Delivery drivers are particularly vulnerable to extreme exhaustion, dehydration and heat stroke. What's worse? These deaths are preventable.
UPS is using extreme heat as a tactic to get their drivers to work more efficiently. And in doing so, they are putting lives at risk. Extreme summer heat is increasing in the United States, which means more hospitalizations and deaths. UPS has to address this problem NOW.
On this National Heat Awareness Day, let's remind UPS that we won't stand by while they put employees' lives in danger. Will you click here to tweet at UPS execs? Or click here to share the petition on Facebook.
If you are a UPS driver or work outside/without A/C, take a look at some of OSHA's tips for protecting yourself in the heat.
Thanks, everyone. Stay safe.
